FOOD ETHOS
Charming and understated, passionate and obsessive about simple, fresh, slow food. We choose ingredients from the farms and fields around us to prepare authentic Italian dishes featuring pasta made by hand.
We cultivate deep relationships with area farmers and artisans, celebrating and honoring their ingredients with great respect for the traditions that bring food to the table.
Scratch Cooking
Our philosophy? Fresh food made from scratch tastes better — and is better for you and the environment. That's why we make everything in-house, from pasta to sauces to dessert.
Local Sourcing
We partner with local farms and makers to source regional ingredients including meat, cheese, produce, beer, wine and spirits. Our chefs communicate daily with farmers to create Weekly Features, selecting items based on real-time harvest info.
In the winter months, we utilize local hoop house produce and cellar vegetables and herbs, with the goal of making local agriculture a year-round sustainable business in Southwest Michigan.
Sustainability
We use ingredients, products and packaging that are sustainable, re-useable or recyclable — always looking to reduce waste. And by working with local producers, we reduce the carbon footprint created through shipping and distribution companies.
Community
We're committed to supporting our local non-profits through our Give Back Dinner program at Bentwood Tavern. Each year we raise funds and awareness for five important community initiatives. Together with our patrons, we've donated more than $125,000 over the past ten years.
If you'd like your organization to be considered as a Give Back Dinner beneficiary, we invite you to fill out this entry form.
